The ache of the prairie
The sweat of South Texas
And the fumes of Los Angeles...

Raised in the Texas Panhandle, educated at the University of Texas, and seasoned by the film and music scenes of Austin and Los Angeles, John-Scott is a classic singing cowboy with a taste for the city.

Whether in song or on screen, his storytelling is informed by the wide open vistas of the High Plains and the festive agitation of urban life. Roy Orbison meets The Clash meets Ween...with a dash of Shel Silverstein thrown in.

John-Scott has spent the last decade and change as a Hollywood mercenary, stacking up stories while honing his craft and adding hyphens to his job description, and now plies his trade as a musician in the San Francisco Bay Area.

When he isn't performing live, he's in the studio working on new music--primarily for his Indie Rock project, A Silk Tornado--the first album, 'We Were Never Here', with Italian-based composer Julian Cassia dropped in the Fall of 2025, and two more studio albums are in the works. The first two singles, 'Obey' and 'Bottlecaps & Shotgun Shells' are available on all streamers.
